"Over these last few years I've come to recognize that the very practice of psychotherapy in its traditional form can be dangerous to one's health, that a devotion to maintaining certain preconceived assumptions may actually prevent healing, for both therapist and client." Scott (2000), Quadrant: Journal of the CG Jung Foundation for Analytical Psychology, XXXII (2), 42-59.

You may be here because you have some questions or situations that have been troubling you.
You may feel like it is time to start exploring certain issues that keep showing up in your life, that may be due to self-limiting beliefs that are keeping you stuck in ineffective Patterns, Themes, Strategies, Discrepancies.
You may feel like you have done "a lot of talk therapy" and are now ready to explore the insights gained in your therapy experiences to find new purpose, to understand the spiritual meaning of certain life events, and to re-write your life story.
Or, you may want to engage in a more holistic approach to your mental health and personal growth that does not involve receiving a mental illness diagnosis or being pushed to consider medication.
If you answered "yes" to any of the statements above, I can help. I not only have professional experience and specialized training in these areas, I have also had personal experiences, which provided me with valuable insights, a wealth of knowledge about how to "sit in the struggle" and "mine the gold", and HOPE because I know what it looks like to be on the other side of the "firewalk" and "dark night of the soul."
I enjoy coaching people through to the "other side." It is very exciting to see my clients move forward toward their true and authentic selves...To be a witness to their "Ah ha" moments. To join them on their FIREWALK. To hold a space and a light for them as they explore their dark night of the soul.
This work is a process....a JOURNEY....one that I look forward to joining as a Transformational Coach, alongside those who are ready to do their inner work, empowering clients after their healing work is completed, to move forward.
My AREAS OF SPECIALTY as a Transformational Coach include working with:
- People who want to do inner work to identify, challenge, and shift their self-limiting beliefs.
- People who are ready and completely committed to exploring the ineffective Patterns, Themes, Strategies, and Discrepancies that have kept them stuck and not living abundantly. I call these the "other PTSDs" that can keep people from living life to the fullest.
- People who are going through a major life shift, either due to a long-term relationship ending, career changes in mid-life, the loss of a loved one, or betrayals of trust that require one to revisit, review, and revise their belief systems.
- People who are feeling stuck in their current profession or career path.
- People who have "done a lot of psychotherapy" and are ready to move on in life with a new story
- People who do not want the stigma of seeing a "psychotherapist" but rather, want to focus on how to find meaning and purpose in their lives with a Transformational Coach to guide them along that path.
I work from a Depth-oriented, Jungian, Holistic and Spiritually-informed approach with my clients. People who contact me are typically those who are going through a major life transition or loss and are in the process of reinventing themselves, desiring to align with their Soul's Purpose. They often want to explore the meaning and purpose of various events that have left them feeling lost, confused, or frustrated. Sometimes, they want to understand why the Universe is sending certain people, situations, images to them at this point in their lives, and are wanting to respond to what may be their soul's calling, but not knowing how to differentiate between their inner voice and the voices of others.
My clients have either worked through their emotional and childhood issues with a licensed psychotherapist, are not interested in being diagnosed with a mental illness, or simply want to work with a life coach versus "doing therapy". Some of my clients have found that while they have done well in life, they still feel like something is missing. Other clients feel stuck, knowing that the life strategies they have used up to this point no longer work, or are just keeping them stuck and feeling like they are not living according to their soul's purpose. They may be going through a loss of some sort that is requiring them to consider a different life path.
We explore their life story...past, present, and what they envision for the future. This includes exploring relationships with people in their lives-both chosen and inherited, all of their personal stories--both good and bad, exciting and tragic. I encourage clients to re-Member their history so they may re-Write their story, mining the gold that has been either tossed aside, taken away, or lost somehow. I empower my clients as they move to a more meaning-filled, authentic and "present" focused life.
As a Depth-oriented Transformational Coach, I work from a Jungian perspective that views the person holistically, with the goal of exploring the Mind, Body, and Spirit/Soul connection. Dream Tending/Analysis, Natal Astrology, Archetypal Exploration, Cinema Therapy, Equine Assisted Learning, and EFT (tapping) are included in my depth-oriented approach. I use coaching methods that challenge my clients to view the world in a new way, encouraging them to re-write their life story, supporting them as they enter into a spiritual practice of looking within, understanding that what has been manifested outwardly in their lives is truly only an expression of an inward condition that has not been fully understood, explored, or embraced.
About Dr. Miller, Her Philosophy & Credentials
Dr. Renee Miller, after many years of practicing as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, creating and running a successful intern training program and trauma-focused group practice with extremely talented colleagues for many years, decided to shift her focus to Transformational Coaching. This new focus is more in alignment with her soul's calling, which is to work from a spiritually and depth-oriented approach with those who are embarking on a journey to deeper spiritual understanding and alignment with their own soul's purpose.
Dr. Miller incorporates various techniques that have been found to be very effective in facilitating forward movement, personal and professional growth, higher levels of self-awareness and understanding, and ultimately, Transformation. As a Transformational Coach, she leads her clients toward the exploration of Mind, Body, Spirit/Soul connection, where she believes, and has seen, true Transformation happen.
Dr. Miller has a Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD). Her education includes a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development, with a Minor in Theological Studies, and a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology. She is a certified Life Coach. She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Equine Assisted Growth and Learning (EAGALA). She is trained in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and in Jungian and Depth Psychology. She has found that using, and teaching clients how to use, some of the aspects of EMDR, along with EFT, can facilitate movement and opening of the psyche, so that clients can identify self-limiting beliefs, as well as access and embrace those cut-off, unintegrated, abandoned, and rejected parts of the self.
Dr. Miller is also trained in Natural Horsemanship, which considers the nature of the horse and how it communicates its needs, relates to its herd mates, its understanding of human interactions, how it learns, and its relation to other non-equine beings. She incorporates equine assisted learning into the transformation work with her clients, as this can also provide access to those parts of the Self that are yearning to live a more Authentic, Empowered, and Soul Purposed Life.
As a Transformational Coach, Dr. Miller does NOT provide psychotherapy. However, her professional, educational, and personal experiences inform her work as a Transformational Coach.
She is a natural horsewoman, with a herd of seven equine partners. She enjoys rehabilitating rescue horses and other animals who have experienced trauma and/or neglect at the hands of humans, applying her professional and personal life experiences to facilitate their healing and growth from those experiences.
In her spare time, Renee is a writer and author of the forthcoming book series, Groomed for Crazy (c), a book series about traumatic childhood experiences and how they shape one's approach to life, or life strategies, with information about how to identify the Patterns, Themes, Strategies, Discrepancies (the other PTSDs) that keep people stuck and the steps necessary to Transform their PTSD's into healthier, more Soul Purposed, meaning-filled Life Strategies.
